"Great stay - Great location"

We had a wonderful stay at The Cliff House. The house is very nice and furnished comfortably. The view is unbelievable! This was our 3rd trip to The Abacos and 2nd to Lubbers Quarters. This home was our favorite by far. The owners are very quick to answer your emails (and I sent plenty) and Donny, the caretaker, will take care of any issues you have while there. The only small thing was although the house has satellite TV, the subscription is from the West Coast so everything was 3 hours behind. We didn't go to watch TV anyway so after the first night it was never an issue. We enjoyed several meals with Amy and Austin at Lubbers Landing and also at Cracker P's. Tahiti Beach is just minutes away as is the beautiful settlement of Hope Town. We had world class snorkeling with majestic eagle rays just a few minutes away. We also used the pool almost every day. It was very difficult leaving. Don't let the stairs scare you away - I have old overweight arthritic knees and they were not a problem. We mainly used the golf cart anyway. Don't hesitate to book this lovely home.

We spent Dec 22 through January 1 2014 in the outstanding and beautiful Cliff House, the best Christmas and New Year's ever! We've stayed on Lubbers before and were able to hook up with friends/locals we had previously met. The house is absolutely beautiful very modern and comfortable!! The views and breezes are fabulous and although we used the marina for our boat slip, hanging out on our own private dock especially for John Bull's firework display on New Year's Day was really cool!! We spent several evenings with Austin and Amy at Lubbers Landing what a great place to eat that we could take our golf cart to (love the tuna burgers) they are so much fun and New Years was a blast! Make sure to charter a fishing trip with Michael Schreiner Down Deep Charters, he knows his stuff and is a fascinating character that is a local bahamian with lots of sea stories. As echoed by several of the other guests comments, the Abaco's are a fantastic place to visit if you want to do the non touristy kind of vacation to enjoy the beauty and nature of the islands....and don't forget to go to the west side of the island with a cocktail and a precious dog named Rigatoni who will lead the way for sunset!! The owners were so friendly and easy to communicate with and kudo's to Donny for all his helpful and cheery assistance. Thank you Cliffhouse and Lubbers Quarters Cay! WE SHALL RETURN!!!

Our vacation time at cliffhouse just flew by. We had such a wonderful time. We spent most of our time in the boat exploring the beautiful Abaco Sea. We love to snorkel and were very pleased with what we saw. We swam with about 8 stingrays on the Tilloo bank at low tide, got some amazing pictures with my underwater camera. Swam with turtles in Little Harbour, they wouldn't let me get as close to them as the stingrays and on Monday when we pulled up to your dock there was a 4' nurse shark just meandering around so I got some pictures of it and eventually got brave enough to get in the water and was able to get close enough that I touched it's tail a couple times before it swam off.

Your house was very nice and comfortable, we loved all the shells. Unless it was raining we ate most lunch and evening meals out on the boat or at a nearby restaurant. Your kitchen is well stocked, we were able to find everything we needed for the meals we ate at the house in the kitchen. The generator was nice to have when the power went off and although we only used the pool once it was very enjoyable and relaxing.

I'm sure you already know what a great job Donny does but we wanted to tell you that from the very first day he was always happy and willing to help with whatever we needed. He brought us some mosquito repellent the first day and made sure to answer our questions and make sure we were familiar with the house. We didn't have any problems with the house but the tilt up and down for the out drive on our boat wasn't working properly, we had to add hydraulic fluid every couple of days. The first time we had problems Donny was very willing and nice to come help us diagnose and fix it. Thank you for having someone as capable as Donny available for when we needed something.

You are very fortunate to have such a wonderful vacation home. Thank you for sharing it with us.

"Fun in the Sun at Cliff House in the Abacos (Lubbers Quarters)"

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cliff House! The house is clean, comfortable and well-built. As you can see from the web images--the view is truly spectacular! The owner was a pleasure to deal with – he answered all of our questions quickly and was very accommodating. The house is in immaculate condition and the caretaker, Donny, was extremely helpful—providing everything we needed. The golf cart sure came in handy, as along with the whole house generator The Abacos is a beautiful and pristine location to visit. On the way in from the airport, we had the taxi stop and Maxwells for groceries and then a liquor store before dropping us off at the marina to pick up our boat from Sea Horse Boat Rentals. The next day, we snorkeled at Sandy Cay and then went down to Pete’s Pub at Little Harbour for a delightful lunch and checked out Jonston's Gallery. We also visited Hopetown to grab a few more groceries and some souveniers. The kids enjoyed a visit to the top of the lighthouse. We also snorkeled Fowl Cays and went up to Great Guana Cay to enjoy the livelier scene at Nippers and Grabbers. Every day there was fantastic! Swimming with the sting rays and sharks across from Cliff House at Tahiti Beach/Tilloo Cut. Our children said it was the best family vacation ever and we can’t wait to go back! I would recommend this place/location to anyone that likes Fun in the Sun, boating, snorkeling, fishing and is a adventure seeker.

"Beautiful house and location."

We had five adults and one child at the house, and had a fantastic time. The caretaker (Donny) met us at the dock on our arrival, and checked in on us regularly. We ended up using the included marina slip the whole week for two reasons. First, the golf cart made running down there with our people and gear a snap, and secondly it's considerably deeper than the dock at the house. We did use the end of the house dock one day and it had plenty of water for our 27' Grady White, but it was nice to be in the marina slip and not worry about low tide and such. The view from the living room and two bedrooms was excellent, and we never tired of it. You can see the Sea of Abaco, Elbow Cay, Tilloo Cay, Tilloo Cut and the Atlantic; we decided this was nicer than even a purely ocean-front view. The pool was a great retreat from the heat when we'd return from the day's adventures. Part of our group stayed back at the house for one full day and loved it, including a great lunch down at Cracker P's. We've been going to Abaco for many years. This was our first time bringing our own boat instead of flying and renting, and found this to be a great, central location to all the places we love. Our favorite snorkelling is Sandy Cay Reef to the south and Fowl Cay Reef to the north (Guana Cay north end is great, too). The fishing was a bit off during this week (for us and most others we heard on the radio), but we still caught plenty to eat and bring home. The communication with Olle (and also Donny) was great throughout. Overall, it was a great vacation!

"The Best View in Abaco."

Our family of five spent 8 days in July at Cliffhouse. The location and home are extraordinary. Ollie has designed a home with views of Tahiti Beach and Tilloo from virtually every angle. And unlike many Abaco homes, Cliffhouse is appointed beautifully with modern appliances, technology and a well furnished kitchen. Our kids loved the pool overlooking Tahiti, while my wife and I loved the seclusion mixed with easy boat access to Abaco Inn, Hopetown and the rest of Abaco.

We recommend renting a boat for daytime adventures followed by relaxation watching the sunset from the upper decks. We can't wait to go back!

"A Bahamian Gem!"

Our group of six, family and friends, spent a wonderful week in May here at the Cliff House. It was even better than we could have expected. This is a beautiful home and the pictures do not do it justice. Our hosts Olle and Li Xia were most accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, while respecting our privacy. By renting a boat, we were able to enjoy the beautiful clear waters, fishing and snorkeling, as well as visiting some of the nearby islands for shopping, sightseeing, and refreshments. If you are snorkelers, we would highly recommend Sandy Cay as one of the most spectacular reefs in the Caribbean. And at the end of the day, it was great to come home to the Cliff House for a dip in the pool and to lounge on the deck, enjoying the cool breeze and incredible view, before preparing dinner in the gourmet kitchen. This was one of our most memorable vacations, and we are most grateful to our hosts for sharing their little piece of paradise with us.

If you like sun, cool breezes, beautiful water views, a wonderful secluded location, billions of stars, gorgeous shells, and a quiet that will pull relaxation from the back of the brain, this place is a sure bet. The quiet is a result of a location without roads and traffic, an island close to other beautiful cays and a gentile level of activity for the 15 plus residences. The property is new and very well equipped, including a gourmet kitchen, well appointed furnishings and a wonderful shell collection. We were there for a short time, too little once the calm and peace of the location settled in. Its just a wonderful place to relax with no plans and island time. ( No hands on the clock). Only regret was that the stay was not two weeks instead of one. Did not think I could get that slow but did. When you see the eastern view, the beautiful water colors and the billions of stars, you will understand its great appeal. David and the group

Cliff House Review

We spent our 10 day vacation at this beautiful house and I would say this place fulfilled all my dreams about the ocean and tropical beaches. It’s hard to find words to describe how spectacular and extraordinary it was to spend time here.
The Cliff House itself really lives up to its name. It sits high on a huge cliff, which gives it a perfect height and distance from the ocean, and just because of this height, it’s hard for any view to escape from one’s eyes. Even though the house is perched above the bay, it takes just a minute to walk down the wooden stairway to the dock and the beach itself. Speaking of the views, I have to point out my favorite highlight of this house, the swimming pool area: the place where I spent most of my leisure time. I often lost myself sitting on the bench while facing the turquoise bay, the nearby islands and the open ocean in the distance. There is such a wonderful feeling here of being totally embraced by the beauty of the nature.
We stayed on the upper level where one master bedroom and two twin bedrooms are connected by a large kitchen and a living room. This structure lets everyone in the family stay close together, but provides enough space and privacy for each person. Spending our vacation here gave me a very different experience from my regular life in the city. Routine parts of my daily life turned into special and pleasurable moments here. My most enjoyable moment was to watch the sunrise in bed through a large French window in my bedroom every morning. Even the time spent in the bathroom became more pleasant with the pretty picture made with local seashells by Lixia, our friendly hostess. During these 10 days, I witnessed all kinds of weather, from sunshine to rain. Although every day was sunny, one evening I was very excited to watch a thunderstorm from my room. It was surprising to discover that lightning across the dark sky here could be that astonishingly beautiful.
One nice thing I’d also like to point out is that it’s very close from where we stayed to other islands and beaches, including Hopetown and Tahiti Beach, where I found a starfish that was bigger than my head, something that I saw for the first time in my life. Tahiti Beach is definitely a day-trip you won't want to miss!
Our vacation here was unforgettable, and I know any words that describe these experiences would seem to be dull and colorless because they can’t really bring the beauty out to anyone who has not been there. I can't wait for my next Cliff House vacation!

We just spent 16 days at Cliffouse over Christmas and loved it. We are cottagers at heart and this rental and area provided everything we hoped for. Cliffhouse is brand new and beautiful. The view is worth the stair climb from the beach! But don't worry there is a golf cart available from the boat if needed/ desired! The owners, Olle and Li xia have built a superior home with every convenience, high ceilings comfortable furniture, pleasant decor, windows and sliders everywhere to enjoy the view and a fabulous wrap around deck lets you feel environment that you are in. Olle and Lixia were wonderful - truly committed to ensuring we had the best possible experience. They picked us up at the airport, made sure we secured our rental boat and were all set. Li xia even surprised us with a homemade sushi dinner upon arrival. After they were sure we were comfortable they left us on our own. We have cottaged on Georgian Bay, (Ontario) all our lives and this experience is somewhat similar to that. Being on holiday in a house instead of a resort transports you into life in the Bahamas. White beaches and turquoise water, delightful little towns to shop and experience (Hope town and Man-O-war our favorites). Night life and restaurants if you want it. Relative seclusion and peace when you want that. We just loved boating everywhere, day tripping and picnicking, playing Frisbee at Tahiti beach or just lounging and relaxing at Cliffhouse. Our kids ages range from 8 - 16. They loved boating, snorkeling and beach discoveries. Great chance for our family to enjoy life and being together in a setting we all love. Don't miss Cracker P's for lunch, trip down to little Harbour, the museum at Hope Town, the beach and Nippers bar, food shop at Man-O-War. Best cracked conch at CoCo's at treasure cay and of course its worth the jaunt up the steps to the top of the lighthouse in Hope Town! Go for it!
